The usuage of SevenSnap requires a certain infrastructure – staff aswell as technology focused. For this reason SevenSnap can?t be published world-wide at once. So we release the app in Germany, Austria, Switzerland aswell as the US and Canada.
Because of the bandwith we are not sure if we can provide an US release at first because we have to provide the server-capicity for the app. Cloud-computing might be a possibility because it scalars with needs. It also reduces ping latency because US users can access US servers and European users can access Europe based servers.
We haven?t decided yet which server base we will use but we will make sure the servers will hold stance when the app will be released.

Well, you sure have heard of “Twitter” and there are some apps available for the iPhone, thanks to the Twitter-API. Audioboo is such an app which also allows you to record audio and upload it.
How it works:
- The user starts the Audioboo app
- The user records audio
- The user enters an description and tags
- The Audioboo is uploaded and published
The Tweet then contains a link of Audioboo.fm and of course this produces traffic. However, Audioboo is only Twitter focused and this reduces the “traffic-performance”. However, Twitter is popular and so this is not a big problem at all.
Still, we want to take a closer look at the Audioboo traffic.
There are 600 Audioboo’s per day, remarkable. We think of 500 unique users for now.
The Alexa traffic reach chart for Audioboo shows more than 30.000 within seven days. This means a single Audiboo in Twitter generates 10.8 visits per day with 5.000-8.000 visitors per day.
7.5% of all iPhone users are active Twitter users, posting tweets and this concludes to 7.000 usual users per day.
Fascinating…Indeed.

Our market place – The App Store in numbers
After the iPhone was released it was obvious that Apple will go the App way and creating a new mobile application market. The release of the SDK made it clear and I followed the information how the iPhone turns the market and what the iPhone makes possible. Also the App Store itself is an interesting part and it changed alot.
The results showed, the App Store is highly appealing to start with a new project and so it was decided we start with an iPhone application.
Advantages of the App Store:
* 40 Million devices running the iPhone OS
* App Store as central POS is highly frequented, revenue friendly, for free (except the Apple share of 30%) and free advertisement.
* The iPhone itself is appealing and news about the iPhone and apps spreading through the web and even usual media.
* 1.5 billion downloaded apps and over 55.000 apps, huge request.
* A few developer having a daily revenue of $50.000.
Thinking of over 55.000 apps, some 140 apps comming per day, how we can sure that the SevenSnap app won’t be overseen? That?s really the basic question we have to solve.
How we will achieve a Top ranking:
* The app is free
* We will give review codes to plenty of blogs and magazines
* SevenSnap is a whole new concept, currently we don?t see any competitors
I’m convinced the App Store is perfect to starting with new ideas, new business and a great user base which provides feedback and a chance to enter the market.

Back in 2008 the idea was born…
A year later the concept stage is reached, schedule is out and financal report is done to move on to the development stage.
Before I will reveal the idea, let me introduce myself.
I am Tobias Hieb, 25 years, from Göttingen, Germany. I work with the net since 1999. My last project was “Sevenmac”, an internet magazine and news portal for Apple fans. Sevenmac was an success but I sold it to focus on the “SevenSnap” app.
To learn more about me, you can visit my blog, twitter or XING profile. (German)
What “SevenSnap” is and will be I will reveal over the next weeks. Of course, it?s an app for the iPhone / iPod Touch.
With this blog I will let you view our progress in development, discuss about Apple?s App Store, providing beta versions and further information. The first beta is supposed to take place in August 2009.
I look forward and hope you will read the SevenSnap blog, participate with comments and beta testing.
